Emeril's BBQ Shrimp

This is a very complicated to make appetizer based on Emeril's recipe. If you want something that takes a lot of work but tastes great, this could be it.

Ingredients:

1 cup2% evaporated milk
1.5 bay leaves
0.5 tablespooncayenne pepper
0.125 cupchopped onion
0.5 tablespoondried thyme
0.125 cupdry white wine
1.5 poundfrozen shelled and deveined shrimp
1 tablespoongarlic powder
1 lemon
1 tablespoonminced garlic
1 tablespoonolive oil
0.5 tablespoononion powder
0.5 tablespoonoregano
1.25 tablespoonpaprika
0.5 tablespoonpepper
1 tablespoonsalt
1 cupwater
0.25 cupWorcestershire sauce

Directions:

Step 1
Mix together the paprika, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, and dried thyme.
Step 2
Wash the shrimp then coat them with one tablespoon of the spice mixture.
Step 3
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and garlic and cooking for 1 minute. Mix in the remaining spice mix, bay leaves, peeled and sectioned lemons, water, Worcestershire sauce, wine, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 4
After 30 minutes, let the sauce cool for 15 min, then strain it to remove all the chunks. Return the liquid to the frying pan and bring to a boil again and cook for another 15 min until you get a thick and dark bbq sauce.
Step 5
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2 min. Add the milk and bbq sauce. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Remove the shrimp from the liquid. Serve the shrimp on a plate with the bbq sauce in a pouring bowl.
