Gobi Manchurian
This dish is usually served as an appetizer at Indian restaurants. It consists of cauliflower (and optionally potatoes) covered in a sweet baked tomato sauce.

6 tablespoon | corn meal (batter) |
8 tablespoon | corn meal (sauce) |
0.5 cup | flour (batter) |
2 clove | garlic (diced, batter) |
8 cloves | garlic (diced, sauce) |
4 tablespoon | ketchup (sauce) |
2 | onion (sauce) |
4 teaspoon | soy sauce (sauce) |
2 | spicy green chilis (sauce) |
4 teaspoon | vinegar (sauce) |
0.5 cup | water (sauce) |
Directions:
Pre-roast the cauliflower and diced potatoes for about 10 minutes at 350 to soften them up a bit
Mix all the batter ingredients together. Toss the cauliflower florets (and optionally diced potatoes) in the batter.
Fry the cauliflower/potatoes in a bit of oil in a pan
Now for the sauce - fry the onions/garlic/green chilis until the onions are cooked. Mix in the ketchup, soy sauce, and vinegar. Fry for another minute or so, then mix in the corn meal/water mixture.
Mix the sauce together with the breaded & fried cauliflower and potato. Cook for a couple more minutes.
