Orange Chicken

Similar to what you would find at a fast food American-Chinese restaurant.

Ingredients:

3 bell peppers
0.25 cupbrown sugar
1 teaspooncayenne pepper
2 poundchicken
3 tablespooncorn starch
2 egg
1.5 cupflour
1 tablespoongarlic
1 tablespoonginger
1 head broccoli
0.25 cuplemon juice
2 tablespoonoil for frying
1 largeonion
1 cuporange juice
1 tablespoonorange zest (optional)
0.25 teaspoonpepper
0.33333 cuprice vinegar
0.25 teaspoonsalt
2.5 tablespoonsoy sauce
0.5 cupwater

Directions:

Step 1
Combine flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Beat the eggs lightly in a second bowl. Cut the chicken into cubes. Dip the chicken in the egg and then the flour. Fry the chicken in a frying pan with some oil until it is completely cooked.
Step 2
In a sauce pan, combine the orange juice, lemon juice, rice vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, orange zest, ginger, garlic, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil. Whisk together the corn starch and water. Slowly stir the cornstarch mixture into the boiling sauce. Cook until it thickens.
Step 3
Fry the bell peppers, broccoli and onions in some oil. Once cooked to your satisfaction, mix in the chicken, and the sauce and cook for a few more minutes. Serve over rice.
