Orange Pound Cake

An orange flavored cake, though still quite sweet. With a nice pan, can be made quite pretty. This cake is pictured here shaped into Easter Eggs.

1 teaspoonbaking powder
0.25 cupbutter
1 tablespoonbutter
2 largeeggs
1 cupflour
0.5 cupmilk
1.5 tablespoonorange juice
1 orange peel, grated
1 pinchsalt
1 cupsugar
0.25 cupsugar
0.75 teaspoonvanilla extract
0.5 cupwhole wheat flour
0.25 cupyogurt


Directions:

Step 1
In a bowl, cream 1/4 cup of butter, with 1/4 cup yogurt and 1 cup sugar until well mixed.
Step 2
Add eggs, salt, orange peel, and vanilla. Mix well.
Step 3
Add milk, flour, and baking powder. Mix well.
Step 4
Pour into a prepared pan. If using a Bundtt pan, coat the pan with oil and flour.
Step 5
Bake the cakes at 350 degrees F for 20-25 min or until cooked through.
Step 6
Prepare the glaze by heating and melting 1 tablespoon of butter (can be done quickly in the microwave). Mix in 1.5 tablespoons of orange juice and 1/4 cup of sugar. With a basting brush, spread the glaze onto the cake.
